Whitney Shea

Studio Owner, Certified Pilates Teacher

Whitney Shea (she/her/hers) is the owner of Contrology Studio and is a Certified Pilates Teacher and Yoga Instructor.

Whitney brings over 13 years of teaching experience and holds a BA in Integrative Physiology from CU Boulder, a Physical Therapist Assistant License from Pima Medical Institute in Denver, a Yoga Teacher Certification from Core Power Yoga, both Advanced and Master’s Certifications from The Pilates Center in Boulder, and a Faculty Bridge Certificate from Pure Body Teacher Training Program. She is also an active Pilates Teacher Trainer for Pure Body Teacher Training.

Whitney’s specializations include pelvic and spine health, and she loves the relationships between Pilates as fitness and rehabilitation.

When Whitney’s not teaching Pilates, you can find her practicing Pilates and yoga, spending time with her family, and enjoying everything outdoors in Colorado!

Once in a lifetime, you might encounter a masterful teacher. One who is thoughtful, patient, and kind. One who meets you where you are, gently challenges you in a supportive environment and gives you lessons to apply not only on the mat but in life. During our first encounter, I immediately knew Whitney was one.

Not just your body, but your entire experience is also unique. I believe that true, lasting healing can only come from an integrative, individualized, and personalized approach. I help clients find the path that is right for them and it is often one that extends beyond the physical body. Alignment, balance, and injury prevention come from much more than exercise. I support the client in finding the right tools that will take them to the next level of health and empower their whole being – mind, body, and spirit.” -Kristine

Why Pilates?

Contrology translates to the ‘Science of Control’.

According to Pilates inventor, Joseph Pilates, Contrology is “the complete coordination of body, mind, and spirit.”

“Contrology develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong posture, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind, and elevates the spirit.”
